This painting on steel features Katara in a waterbending stance. Behind her is the emblem of the Water Tribe from Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: the Legend of Korra.

In Avatar the Last Airbender, the Water Tribe is actually composed of both the northern and southern tribes, located at the north and south poles (although there are water benders that live in swamps as well). The Southern tribe has been all but wiped out by repeated Fire Nation raids. In Avatar: The Last Airbender, Katara, Sokka, and their father, Hakoda are all from the Southern Water Tribe. In Avatar: Legend of Korra, Korra and her family as well as Varrick are also Southern Water Tribe natives.
